Citizen Advisory Committee July 24th Orientation, SMILE station, The Bee Article

The Citizen Advisory Committee met on July 24th for the initial orientation. Unfortunately, this was the only proposed date which I could not attend due to a previously scheduled business trip. Metro has sent orientation materials which I will be reviewing this week. The next proposed meeting is the August 15th tour of the proposed alignment options.

----

The SMILE station has been offered as a central venue for ongoing CAC meetings. As Metro works through the schedule, SMILE station may be selected as the regular meeting location.

To clarify information published in the The Bee this week, this blog is not an official Metro site. This blog is intended to provide updates and solicit input from the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood during the Citizen's Advisory Committee process. I will continue to post helpful links (to the right side of the blog) to provide resources for the project, which includes the official Metro links.

Downtown MAX service interruption July 27-29, 2007

I got this from the TriMet email list earlier this week:

"MAX service in downtown Portland will be interrupted from 7 p.m., Friday, July 27, through end of day Sunday, July 29, due to construction.

The following stations will be closed: Pioneer Square South, Pioneer Square North, Mall/SW 4th Ave, Mall/SW 5th Ave, Yamhill District.

Red and Yellow Line trains will not serve downtown Portland. Shuttle buses will be running to carry MAX riders to the next open station."
